First Aid Focus
We had the pleasure of welcoming Roberta from St John Ambulance to our school to present the First Aid Focus program. Our students had the opportunity to learn essential first aid skills tailored to their age groups.
All students learnt about calling 000 in an emergency.
Junior students explored what an emergency is and when it’s appropriate to call an ambulance.
Years 1 & 2 were introduced to the DRS steps – Danger, Response, Send for help, giving them a solid foundation in first aid awareness.
Senior students took it a step further with the DRSABCD approach, learning how to:
Check for danger and a response
Send for help
Check airways and breathing
Place someone in the recovery position.
A big thank you to Roberta and St John for empowering our students with life-saving knowledge in a fun and engaging way.
